On behalf of the staff of HamptonRoadsGOP.com, I am honored to welcome all of you to our Web Site. The reason that we created this Web Site was to fill a void in the Republican Party.
As some of you may know, I have been very active in the Republican Party and have for the last 25 years served in numerous capacities beginning as Chairman of the Old Dominion University College Republicans to State Chairman of the Young Republican Federation of Virginia, to serving on the Republican Party of Virginia’s State Central Committee for 15 years and serving on its Executive Committee as the Chairman of the Second Congressional District Republican Committee from 2005 through 2008. In addition I have served on numerous local, state and federal campaign steering committees. In 1997 I founded the Republican Professionals Network (RPN), a political action committee comprised of business leaders, professionals and party leadership throughout the Hampton Roads area. HamptonRoadsGOP.com is a project of the RPN.
Throughout the years, the one logistical issue that always pops up is the conflict in schedules between campaigns, elected officials, unit committees and auxiliaries. Throughout the years there have been ideas and suggestions to fix this problem; however, there has never been a successful solution.
That changes now. HamptonRoadsGOP.com will be the catch-all schedule for all Republican activities throughout Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore. Over the next few months we will be implementing our system to have all Republican events listed on our calendar. We will also be compiling emails of activists so we can then send out a weekly update of events. It is our pledge to you that we will only send out this update once a week unless something urgent occurs and we know you will need a heads-up.
In addition to the Calendar we will have a Republican Blog for all activists to share ideas, concerns or to network politically. Yes there are numerous blogs on the web currently; however, we are a venue for Republicans. We will be proudly partisan.
Finally, HamptonRoadsGOP.com will serve as a Republican resource for all activists. We will have links to all Party websites in Hampton Roads, as well as campaigns and auxiliaries. Periodically we will have “Question and Answer” sessions on many issues affecting the mechanics of the Republican Party such as mass meetings, parliamentary procedure, membership recruitment and much more.
We invite all of you to participate in HamptonRoadsGOP.com. We look forward to being your online Republican Think Tank.
