The Truth About Obama: William Ayers, Part 1 by Christopher George

Barack Obama’s relationship to William Ayers has been suppressed and neglected by Obama and the Democratic National Committee (DNC). As stated on Obama’s “Fight the Smears” website, media sources have listed information regarding this allegation. The AP states “No evidence shows they were “pals” or even close when they worked on community boards years ago.” Barack Obama specified in the New York Times that Ayers was “someone who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was 8.” The “Fight the Smears” website also points out that “they barely knew one another.”

Nevertheless, these statements by the AP, New York Times, and “Fight the Smears” website deem debatable. Barack Obama during the Democratic Primary Debate in April was asked about his relationship to Ayers by George Stephanopoulos and goes on to say “This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood, who’s a professor of English in Chicago, who I know and who I have not received some official endorsement from. He’s not somebody who I exchange ideas from on a regular basis.”

In the previous statement on Barack’s website it speculated that they barely knew each other at all. Which is it? Do they know each other or don’t they? This is an election for the President of the United States and the facts should be clear, concise and honest, you either know him or you don’t.

In an article on FOX News it was written that “although Ayers has not publicly endorsed Obama in the current Presidential election, he did support him in his early career running for Senate and threw a fundraiser for him at his home.”

The idea of never exchanging ideas regularly proves false as well. As is written once again in a FOX News article “Ayers and Obama served on two boards together: the Chicago Annenberg Challenge from 1995 to 2001 and the Woods Foundation from 1993 to 2002….since they served together with a foundation that gave out over $100 million to groups that they both generally agreed with, there had to be some regular exchange of and agreement on ideas.”

William Ayers co-founded Chicago Annenberg Challenge in 1995. Publication American Thinker described it as such: “A radical education reform project created to award grants to Chicago schools and “education networks.” The grant-making non-profit handed out well over $100 million between 1995 and 2001, but failed to measurably improve the Chicago school system. Where all the money went may never be determined, but some of it was used to fund projects run by Ayers’ radical friends. For example, $175,000 went to former SDSer Mike Klonsky, who until recently was also a blogger at Obama’s official campaign website.

Before reinventing himself as an educator, Klonsky founded an American Maoist communist sect that worked with the Chinese communists. Among the organizations receiving funding from CAC were the community action group ACORN, the Arab American Action Network, Bernadine Dohrn’s Children and Family Justice Center, and Trinity United Church, home base of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.”

William Ayers as described by the Chicago Sun-Times, “was part of the “Weather Underground,” an anti-Vietnam War group that protested U.S. policies by bombing the Pentagon, U.S. Capitol and a string of other government buildings. Nobody was hurt in the attacks by the defunct organization, which the FBI labeled a “domestic terrorist group.”

When former Congressman and MSNBC anchor Joe Scarbourough asked Communications Director of the Obama campaign Robert Gibbs “Did Barack Obama know that William Ayers was a terrorist when Ayers introduced him to Chicago Politics in 1995?” Gibbs simply answered “he didn’t.”

Obama would go on to tell radio host Michael Smerconish that “Ultimately, I ended up learning about the fact that he had engaged in this reprehensible act 40 years ago, but I was 8 years old at the time and I assumed that he had been rehabilitated.”
